IRSPA Dental & Vision Plan

Good News! The Iowa Retired School Personnel Association (IRSPA) has endorsed dental and vision plans for our members and families. These plans are made available through Association Member Benefits Advisors (AMBA). The only requirement to take advantage of these plans is membership with IRSPA. If you are currently not a member, click here to join.

Without dental insurance, the cost of care can get very expensive. In Iowa, common procedures such as root canals, bridges, and crowns can cost more than $700 each! However, with rich benefit levels, this plan can help ease the financial burden of dental expenses.

The group dental insurance plan, underwritten by Delta Dental, enables you to use any dentist you choose – no network required! You also have the option of selecting a network dentist whose services are discounted.  If you have twelve months of continuous dental coverage with no lapse, you will enjoy access to all covered services with no waiting periods.  If you have no prior dental coverage, or a lapse, you will have a 3 month waiting period for cavity repair and tooth extractions and a 12 month waiting period for Major services. There is no waiting period for Preventative services. Locate a network provider at www.deltadentalia.com.

Vision Service Plan (VSP) gives you access to a nationwide network of ophthalmologists and optometrists.  When visiting a VSP network provider you will receive an eye exam and lenses once every twelve months and frames provided once every twenty-four months after a minimal co-pay. Your eye exam is fully covered after a $15 co-pay and your prescription glasses are fully covered up to your allowance after a $25 co-pay. To locate a VSP provider in your area, call 1.800.877.7195 or visit www.vsp.com/go/IRSPA
