How Benefits Are Paid

The method of payment for your long term care claims is spelled out in the policy you receive after being approved for coverage. You should familiarize yourself with this policy, however, below are common methods of payment.

Payment to You

Under this arrangement you would be paying for your long term care services and the insurer would reimburse you the appropriate amounts.

Payment to a Beneficiary

This provision can occur if benefits are due to you but you have passed away. Additionally, if a family member is handling your arrangements you can set payments to be paid to the beneficiary.

Assign Benefits to Your Provider

You can assign benefits directly to your care provider to make the payment process more efficient. This is typically done in writing and your provider must agree to the terms of this arrangement as well.
